Acacia berlanderi

Guajillo Photo Description: Guajillo is a small, spreading tree that grows to 12 feet tall and 12 feet across. The delicate, fern-like foliage is light green to deep green, about 4 inches long and divided into many leaflets, giving this plant a lush appearance. Masses of creamy white, ball-like flower clusters appear in the spring.

Maintenance: Guajillo is hardy. It survives on low amounts of rainfall in nature, but will benefit from regular watering in spring and summer. It has a moderate growth rate and may take a few years to achieve small tree stature. Being native to nutrient-poor, limestone soils, Guajillo grows extremely well in our desert soils without the addition of organic matter. Guajillo will grow best in a soil that has good drainage.
